Socioeconomic Context

61% of adolescents aged 15-18 years-old in Bolivia have experienced some form of sexual violence in the past 12 months (UNICEF, 2018).

What We Fund

“Casa Hovde: Marta Bedoya de Claure” is a home for up to 30 young girls aged 12-19 who have endured severe street violence or sexual abuse. It is a transitional home and a place of refuge for the girls to recover from their trauma and lead healthy, happy lives.

About Our Partner

The Alalay Foundation’s mission is to combat emotional, economic, and social poverty among at-risk children, youth, and families. Their work focuses on providing shelter, opportunities, facilitating reintegration, and upholding the fundamental rights of boys, girls, and teenagers who live on the streets. Annually, Alalay serves 178 children through their protection programs and over 2000 children in their prevention programs.
